ANNOUNCEMENT - MEMBERSHIP

The Labour Club has more than 360 members who have paid their subscriptions for 2010.  If you are not a 2010 member come into the Club, complete an application and pay the relevant subs. Associate subs £12, retired £6.


ATTENTION LABOUR PARTY MEMBERS -

Don't forget that as Labour Party Members in this District you have already been confirmed as Full Labour Club Members.  In order to have a card issued and your position as Full members confirmed the next time you are in please pay £2 at the bar and give your name and branch to the staff.  For Party members belonging to branches other than Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay please leave contact details including phone, email and membership number.  Your membership will be agreed by the Committee.


ANNOUNCEMENT - CLUB EGM 2010 - 7:30 pm 29th July

The only agenda item will be to consider a rule change which will enable us to be issued with a new Licence.

Sun 18th - 3:30 to 6 pm "There and Back" Back by popular demand.

Wed 21st - 7:00 pm Charity Quiz for The National Coastguard Institute

Teams of 6 for £5 pp including ploughman's


Fri 30th - About 8 pm to about then. Jamming in the backroom for members and guests.



AUGUST

Sun 1st - 4:00 pm KARAOKE - featuring Peter Presley and his "Such a Night" Karaoke.


Thur 5th - from 8 pm - Whitstable Folk Club featuring Christi Andropolis and David Newey

Christi is singer and fiddle player whose musical inspirations range from the Southern states of the US to the UK.  From delta blues to Appalachian tunes, she combines influence of her American roots with a flair for Scottish and English fiddle. David is a guitarist, songwriter, singer and one of the most in-demand acoustic guitar players in the business.


Sat 7th - from 9 pm on Carnival night.  MELODIUS - Ray and Colin provide fun popular local sounds.  Watch the floats and back to the Club for fun.



Sat 28th to Mon 30th - the famous WHITSTABLE BEER FESTIVAL - details to follow but includes Nigel Hobbins (plus), The Chimmney Boys, Jim Leverton and more.

Don't forget there will be at least 8 extra beers and ciders to savour as the music and entertainment flow.
